We have developed concept plans for the extension of the Queanbeyan river path from the Queanbeyan suspension bridge along Thorpe Ave towards Sorrell Pl.

The concept design includes 500m of new shared path that will be 2.5m wide to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists. The path will be slightly extended near the suspension bridge to link with the existing path in the area and will require a small section to be elevated.

Construction of the path will require the removal of a small number of trees and vegetation along the route. The construction may also impact on individual driveways. Where work is required to cross a driveway, repairs will be carried out as per council policy.

Council is seeking feedback on the concept designs (available on the right) from the community for consideration prior to tenders for construction. It is expected that construction will commence in early 2018.

For further information please contact Council's Project Engineer Thomas Hogg on 6258 6243
