Can you help?

We know there is nothing like local knowledge. That is why we are calling on you to help us collect and supply data relating to the August 2022 floods at Bungendore that will assist our Review of the Bungendore Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan. This data will help us better understand and manage the flood risk in the Bungendore area so that we can identify the best solutions for reducing flood damage and effects of the flooding.

In order to verify predictions of peak flood extents and levels, we would like to know if you can identify any flood marks that you or others may have recorded during the August 2022 flood event. For example, you may have seen floodwaters reaching a certain height on a tree, building or fence.

Similarly, we would like to obtain any private rainfall recordings that you or others may have compiled during the flood events.

Photographs are especially useful in validating the behaviour of a past flood event. They help us verify the results of the flood modelling and identify where flooding and drainage problems have been experienced.
