The Community Strategic Plan (CSP) is the overarching visionary plan that provides a roadmap for our region. It seeks to identify the community’s main priorities and aspirations for the future. This CSP looks ahead to 2042.
The CSP forms part of the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IPR) framework. It defines the key issues and ambitions of the community and sets strategic directions that guide all other Council planning.
Community ambitions in the plan have been organised under the 5 key themes:
Community
Economy
Environment
Infrastructure
Civic leadership
Council has a role in developing the CSP on behalf of the local government area but Council is not wholly responsible for its implementation. Community members and community groups, state and federal government agencies, non-government organisations, business and industry may all contribute to delivering the strategies of the plan.
The NSW Government requires Council to adopt a CSP by 30 June in the year following a local government election.
