Council is seeking community feedback on the 2026 Donations Policy and Guidelines.

This project is open for community comment from Monday 30 March until Monday 27 April 2026.

Council’s donations policy identifies various forms of community assistance allocated annually through grants, donations and rate relief. Each year it reviews community donation requests whilst containing costs within a responsible budget.

The draft Donations Policy allows Council to make donations and community grants that provide assistance to the community with funding for activities and programs that align with Council’s strategic objectives. Both the financial commitment to community donations and the community grant guidelines have been reviewed.

For the 2026-27 financial year an amount of $245,000 for community grants and donations has been recommended for public exhibition and community feedback.

There are 7 categories that have application and assessment criteria:

A – General Assistance

B – Hire / Lease Fees

C – Rates, Fees and Annual Charges

E – Heritage Grants and Special Heritage Grants

G – Cultural Grants

H – No Fee Hire of Council Community Spaces

Schools and Sundry

The draft Donations Policy and Donation Guidelines for each category is available for download from the document library.
