Consultation has now concluded

We are planning a project to redevelop 88 Wallace Street, Braidwood. The project will include constructing a car park partially located within the existing depot at the rear of 88 Wallace Street.

Your feedback will help us progress concept designs further, so that we can get a better understanding of estimated costs and required budget.

What will the project include?

The project will involve some form of demolition, remediation of the site, pedestrian access through the site to the car park, public toilets, stormwater connection to Lascelles Street, EV charging stations, and smart infrastructure including lighting and wi-fi.

What are we seeking your feedback on?

We would like community feedback on heritage items that should be kept, which sections of the existing structure should be retained, whether a Visitors' Information Hub should be included in this space, and any particular design elements that should be included.

We'd also like to know:

  • whether there are additional uses or facilities that you'd like to see
  • how the car park could help businesses and if any particular signage or infrastructure could improve this
  • the community's appetite for toilet facilities, smart lighting and electric vehicle charging
  • general feedback on the usability and design
  • if there are items of heritage significance on the site

You can provide feedback:

  • By commenting below
  • By email to council@qprc.nsw.gov.au referencing "88 Wallace Street Renewal" in the subject line
  • By mail to PO Box 90, Queanbeyan NSW 2620

Submissions close 10 August.

This project has received $1.4 million under the NSW Government's Regional Housing Fund.
