Amendment to Googong Development Control Plan 2010

Consultation has concluded

Council has prepared an amendment to the Googong Development Control Plan (GDCP) 2010. The GDCP 2010 was authorised in December 2010. Regular reviews and amendments have occurred since then to ensure the document is up to date and to incorporate new neighbourhood structure plans. The current amendments review and update controls with regard to Multi Dwelling Housing developments. In addition new Neighbourhood Structure Plans (NSP) are incorporated for the Sunset Estate development located north of Googong Road.

In summary the changes to the draft document are as follows:

  1. Inserting an additional reference into Part 1 of the DCP to adopt Section 2.12 of the Queanbeyan DCP (QDCP) 2012. This clause was recently introduced into the QDCP to reflect legislative changes following the introduction of the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016.
  2. Inserting additional objectives and controls under Section 5.14 – Signage within the Public Domain.
  3. Amendment to Table 1 of Part 6 to clarify the minimum parking requirement for single dwellings and Alterations and Additions.
  4. Amendments to Part 7 in regard to minimum requirements for Multi Dwelling Housing developments in relation to site coverage, front setbacks, articulation zone, minimum separation of buildings and on site visitor parking in appropriate circumstances.
  5. A new appendix has been added to include the NSP for sunset estate.
