They provide an opportunity to educate on a range of cultures, environment, and horticulture.

A sister city garden can be of varying scale, to celebrate the relationship between two or more communities through a Sister City or Friendship Agreements.

A botanic garden – sister city garden would be a garden consisting of a collection of plants from Australia and plants endemic to the country with which the sister city agreement is in place.
