Consultation has concluded

Built in 1966, the Braidwood Pool has been a much loved and important centre for sport and recreation over many decades. Due to its central location, the pool is a social gathering place for the community. However, it is in serious need of upgrade.

We are looking at undertaking some improvements to the Braidwood Pool pending available funding. These include:

  • Stage One ($1 million has been secured, funded through Round 3 of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund).
    • Heating, Change Rooms and Kiosk
  • Stage Two (not currently funded)
    • Pool Reconfiguration, Plant Room Update, Gymnasium

Once a plan has been agreed to, a Development Application will be submitted for both stages. The construction phase of Stage One is expected to commence in March 2021. Stage Two will not progress unless funds become available.

We are asking for your input into both stages. Given grant funding has been secured for Stage One, the scope of works submitted in the grant will need to be achieved – being heating, change rooms and kiosk improvements. Within these parameters, certain design elements can be influenced.

As funding has not been secured for Stage Two, we are open to feedback on the proposed scope of works as well as other suggested improvements.

There are three documents available in the document library. These are the overall plans and two sets of drawings - one for the kiosk and change rooms and one master plan.
