We are seeking feedback on the revised Directional Signage Policy. This policy covers all directional signage to tourist businesses, attractions, services, and community facilities that are planned within road and recreation areas managed by QPRC.

The Policy has undergone a review and changes are outlined below:

State Environmental Planning Policy 64 superseded by State Environmental Planning Policy 2021 – Chapter 3

  • Roads and Maritime Supplement to AS1742.5-2017 superseded to TfNSW Supplement to AS1742.5-2017
  • Tourist Signposting Manual – Roads and Maritime Services and Destination NSW amended to Destination NSW Signposting guidelines
  • 5.9.1(c) ambiguous and conflicting wording amended and refined
  • State Environmental Planning Policy 64 Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 amended to State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008
  • 5.10.1 implied that community facility signs can be co-located with “As of Rights” signs. Speed, Warning and Pedestrian warning signs should preferably not be co-located with other signage. Amended with “or as approved by QPRC
  • 5.11.3 language amended to avoid confusion on allowable clearances.
