Consultation has concluded
Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council resolved at its meeting of 12 October 2022 to progress a planning proposal (Department Ref: PP-2022-3687) in order to reclassify a small parcel of land at 19 Glenrock Drive Googong (part Lot 342 DP 1259563) from community land to operational land under the Local Government Act 1993.
The planning proposal is intended to allow for the subject land to be transferred from Council ownership to the developers of the Googong Town Centre where the land will be managed as part of a proposed future commercial space. The subject land will be used for seating and dining by nearby food and drink premises.
An independent public hearing will also be undertaken in respect of the proposed reclassification of land as required under the Local Government Act 1993. An independent chairperson will be appointed to hold this public hearing.
