We are seeking your feedback on the draft Braidwood Structure Plan. The plan is being re-exhibited after significant changes following its previous exhibition in early 2025
Background
Preparing a Structure Plan to manage land use change and future growth in Braidwood is a strategic planning priority in Council’s Local Strategic Planning Statement - Towards 2040.
The Braidwood Structure Plan will deliver a strategic vision for the area which reflects community and government priorities, provides a development framework to guide future planning initiatives, and coordinates the efficient delivery of key infrastructure. It will set out the proposed future land uses, the mix and type of uses, staging and infrastructure delivery for the area.
Why the changes?
The draft plan has been updated in response to a slowing of the population growth rate, a reduction in Braidwood’s water capacity, and community feedback. These factors affect the likely demand and supply of residential land in and around Braidwood.
The amended Draft Braidwood Structure Plan is a significantly different document than the version exhibited in early 2025. We are seeking your feedback on the updated document. The Plan is on exhibition for an extended period until 20 February 2026.
Following re-exhibition, the Draft Braidwood Structure Plan will be returned to a future Council meeting for consideration of endorsement.
