Consultation has concluded

We have prepared a new development contributions plan to collect contributions from developers for public off-street car parking facilities within Bungendore.

Contributions for car parking are currently collected under Local Infrastructure Contributions Plan No. 11 for the Provision of Public Off-Street Carparking at Bungendore, which was prepared and adopted by the former Palerang Council in 2011. The existing plan is more than ten years old, and Council considered it timely for it to be reviewed as part of a broader review of local infrastructure contributions plans. This review found several areas where the plan needed changes to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and fairness in the collection of contributions.

The Draft Plan provides a better framework for the efficient and fair determination, collection and management of contributions toward the provision of public off-street car parking facilities and infrastructure within Bungendore.

It will ensure Council can fund the car parking facilities needed to promote the growth and economic viability of Bungendore’s town centre. An adequate supply of car parking spaces, within convenient walking distance of the town centre, will greatly assist local businesses.

The Draft Contributions Plan describes:

  • where contributions are required
  • what types of development the contributions apply to
  • what car parking infrastructure and facilities the contributions will fund, and
  • how the contribution rates have been determined.

The Draft Contributions Plan has been prepared in accordance with Section 7.11 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

Submissions on the Draft Plan can be made until 4.30pm on 15 June 2021, in the following ways:
