Consultation has concluded
At its meeting on meeting on 26 June, Council resolved to exhibit the following new fee for inclusion in the 2019-20 Fees and Charges. If no significant issues are raised with the proposed fee, it will take effect from Monday 29 July 2019.
Fee:
Fire Safety Administration Fee relating to annual fire safety statements - $74
The Fire Safety Administration Fee applies to buildings of Class 2-9 (typically Commercial, Industrial and multi-residential buildings) where there are fire safety measures installed.
It is the responsibility of the property owner to submit a Fire Safety Statement annually under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Part 9 of the EP&A Act Regulation 2000. The fee is to enable Council to carry out the administration and maintenance of the Fire Safety Register.
The fee and process will bring QPRC into line with other NSW Councils and industry practice. It does not apply to single residential properties (Class 1 and 10).
