In NSW, horse riders are legally allowed to use public roads and share them with other road users. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and take extra care, especially on narrow roads, near bends and crests, and where horse warning signs are present.

Council is seeking community feedback on commonly used horse riding routes and road crossings to help improve horse warning signage across the region. If you regularly ride or see horses in roadways, please fill out our short survey below.

The horse warning signage project is open for community comment from Monday 23 March until Monday 20 April 2026.

Feedback can be provided by:

  1. Dropping a pin on the map or providing info in the question below
  2. Emailing feedback directly to council@qprc.nsw.gov.au with the subject title "Horse Warning Signage"
  3. Handwriting your submission and delivering it to Council's Customer Service Centres
  4. Posting your submission to PO Box 90, Queanbeyan NSW 2620

Submissions must be received by Council by Monday 20 April 2026. Any submissions received may be included in the final report to Council.
