The Planning Proposal seeks to make housekeeping changes to the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Local Environmental Plan (QPRLEP) 2022 for the Googong urban release area. The proposed changes include:
Amend zone boundaries of R1 General Residential and R5 Large Lot Residential near Neighbourhood 5 Neighbourhood Centre to align with lot boundaries
Rezone from R1 General Residential to RE1 Public Recreation, parcels that have been dedicated to QPRC and not already rezoned in the QPRLEP
Amend the Minimum Lot Size (MLS) Map and Secondary Dwelling and Dual Occupancy Map associated with the zone map changes from R1 General Residential to RE1 Public Recreation
Remove Googong shearing shed from Schedule 5 Environmental Heritage and delete item I282 from the Heritage map
Amend Additional Permitted Uses Map and Local Clauses Map to maintain consistency with the Googong Master Plan and endorsed Structure Plan
Amend Floor Space Ratio Map and Height of Building Map associated with changes to the Additional Permitted Uses Map.
The NSW Government Gateway determination authorises Council as the local plan-making authority to exercise the functions under section 3.36 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
