Ideas for Captains Flat playground
Consultation has concluded
We have removed the old playground equipment at Foxlow Parklet in Captains Flat due to contamination from the old mining site. During the remediation of the site, the old play equipment cannot be reused, as it will no longer meet the current playground safety standards.
We’re looking for ideas from the local community to replace the equipment at this park, and would like to hear your ideas. The available budget for the replacement equipment will restrict the number of play items installed. Some possibilities for potential play equipment are listed below.
- Spinning apparatus (e.g. merry-go-round)
- Swings - baby and older child or a nest swing
- Slides
- Spring rockers - animals, insects, vehicles etc.
- Climbing frame
- Picnic seating and shelters

A skatepark would be a great inclusion! An excellent way to get youth out of the house and enjoying time outside as a group
Skateparks in recent times have been great additions to local communities across NSW and the country, bringing people from different aspects of life into the same venue, giving people a chance to socialise and to relate to within eachother. A great place for children and adults to get exercise and spend some time outdoors, a skatepark would be an excellent addition to the Captains Flat community.

Double swings, trampolines, cubbys and picnics.
Would be nice if park had completely different stuff from the other park down the road. Me and my toddler love the double sided swings they have at bungendore, as parent can swing with child. Built in trampolines would be a great addition and all age groups would be able to use them. Tall climbing equipment with cubby houses and a long slide (bigger than other park.) Also simple low picnic rock areas would be great.
