Consultation has concluded

Council has secured a landscape architect, Indesco, to develop a number of landscape concepts for parkland at 16 Agnes Avenue, for the community to review, vote and comment on. The parcel of land has two street frontages, from Agnes Avenue to Ross Road, shown in the image below.

The Agnes Avenue section of land is vacant, is highlighted above. The Ross Road section of land is currently the site of basketball courts, which Council now proposes to grant a Lease to the Respite Care for Queanbeyan Incorporated to use the land and erect buildings (fronting Ross Road) for the development of a Respite Care Centre for a thirty (30) year period from 1 July 2020.

Recent feedback from the neighbouring community indicates that ongoing foot traffic through this parcel of land remain intact, from Agnes Avenue to Ross Road. This has been taken into consideration with the four Indesco concepts depicted in their preliminary sketches, along with the considerations from Council to accommodate play, exercise and landscaping. It is proposed that pedestrian access from Agnes Ave to Ross Road be provided through the car park of the proposed respite centre.
