Consultation has now concluded
Council is planning to construct an aquatics centre at the Bungendore Sports Hub as part of the works to create a sporting complex in Bungendore. Council has engaged an aquatics designer who will develop a design early in 2022, after considering the feedback from stakeholders and the community.
We are seeking the community’s views about the features that the new aquatics centre should include. While some features may not be able to be included in this first stage, this is also an opportunity to plan for future improvements. Currently our planned budget for the first stage of the new aquatics centre will see the construction of an 8 lane, 25 metre, heated outdoor pool. There will also be a facilities building, plant room, and kiosk. Future stages are planned to convert the outdoor pool into an indoor pool and will see the construction of children’s wet play features.
The existing five lane 25m pool at Bungendore (including a toddler pool) will be removed as part of the construction of the planned new high school.
The concept image is based on a simple vision developed by the architect as part of the broader Bungendore Sports Hub plan.
