The Planning Proposal seeks to make the following housekeeping changes to Queanbeyan Local Environmental Plan 2012:

  • Reinstate a provision to permit the development of a second dwelling to a Royalla property that existed under previous planning controls of the Yarrowlumla Shire Council.
  • Amend lot sizes of the Environmental Conservation lands that apply to Lot 1 DP 1249543, 28 Lonergan Drive Greenleigh NSW, from 80 hectares to 40 hectares. This will to permit this land to be dedicated to the Council in the future.
  • Reduce the lot sizes of three lots proposed for housing Jumping Creek to 600 square metres each. This change will facilitate this area being appropriately subdivided. These proposed changes will require amendments to two Lot Size Maps, LSZ_005 and LSZ 006, of Queanbeyan Local Environmental Plan 2012.
  • Update the Queanbeyan Local Environmental Plan 2012 maps to reflect the approved development framework for the Googong Town Centre and Googong Common. Mapping changes will apply to the relevant land zoning map, height of buildings map, floor space ratio map, lot size map and Googong map.
  • Introduce a new exempt development provision to allow for the development of fixed free standing information signage at Googong for up to 2 years on Council's behalf.

The NSW Government Gateway determination authorises Council as the local planmaking authority to exercise the functions under section 3.36(2) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

The amended planning proposal and the Gateway determination will be open for community comment from Tuesday 10 December 2019 until Friday 14 February 2020.
