Consultation has concluded

We have received grant funding to replace the existing playground equipment at Mick Sherd Oval in Bungendore. The current equipment is outdated and does not comply with the current 'Everyone Can Play' guidelines which are set by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment. Importance will be placed on these guidelines, as a set of best practice recommendations encouraging the creation of more inclusive and multi-generational play spaces.

Since mid 2020 we have been working with a group of local volunteers to explore options for the playground refurbishment. We would now like to hear from all members of the community about what they would like to see included in the playground.

To assist with our grant application a playground concept design was prepared by a professional design company.

We'd like to hear from you on the concept. In particular your opinion is sought on the inclusions for the new playground. Some suggestions are listed below and are also included in the concept documents and concept images which are available on this page.

  • Spinning apparatus (e.g. merry-go-round)
  • Double flying fox
  • Swings: baby / older child / nest swing / joey swing
  • Slides
  • Spring rockers, themed: e.g. animals, insects, vehicles
  • Climbing frame
  • Tower
  • Water play equipment
  • Sensory play equipment
  • Playhouse
  • Picnic seating and shelters
  • BBQ facilities

It is planned that the new playground will be constructed and open to the public by the end of 2021.
