Consultation has concluded
In accordance with Section 38A of the Roads Act 1993 Council proposes that the section of Brown Street, Queanbeyan pictured below be closed as a public road as the road for the following reasons:
Note: the section of road to be closed is shown with cross hatching.
(A) the road is not reasonably required as a road for public use.
(B) the road is not required to provide continuity of the existing road network.
(C) other public roads exist that provide practical vehicular access to properties that may have previously used Brown Street namely Booth Street, Atkinson St, Carwoola Street and Dodsworth Avenue.
Once closed it is proposed that the land would form part of the Queanbeyan Golf Course. Further information about the proposal is available in the Information Sheet in the document library on the right.
Submissions are invited and should be submitted to Council by Tuesday 10 September 2019.
