Consultation has concluded
Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council is presenting a concept brand for the new organisation to the community for comment. The full presentation can be downloaded on the right.
A consultation process was conducted by branding experts Coordinate in December 2016 with representatives of community groups from across the Local Government Area, staff and members of the Local Representation Committee, which includes four former councillors from each of the two councils.
As a result of the consultation process, a brand essence was delivered to creatively summarise the Local Government Area and deliver the design direction for the identity. The brand essence, ‘One heart, many parts’ reflects the totality of the region and the diversity of the individual towns and regions that form the greater whole. It was important to both QPRC and Coordinate that a master brand was designed to reflect the region while allowing for each town or region to be individually represented.
The Coordinate creative team looked at a number of concepts for the brand, however they settled on designing a ‘brand mosaic’ of the Local Government Area’s boundary. Together with the main brand, Coordinate has proposed a sub brand layer (download document on right for more information) for individual towns and communities. Coordinate is still working with Council on how that may be implemented, however they see it as integral to ensuring the branding is adopted across the community.
Council is seeking comments on the concept brand between 10 March and 7 April before a report will be presented to Council for adoption.
