Consultation has now concluded.
A development application for the Queanbeyan Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade was lodged with the ACT Government on 7 December 2023. The existing and proposed STPs are located in the ACT. The development application number is 202342384.
The Development Application details the works proposed as part of the upgrade, which include demolition of the existing facility and construction of a new sewage treatment plant to cater for up to 75,000 equivalent population, landscaping and other associated works. The new facility would be located on the existing site to the south-east of the current treatment plant.
Prior to submitting the Development Application QPRC prepared an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS201900029) which was completed on 27 June 2023. The completed Environmental Impact Statement is included as part of the Development Application documentation. Table 6.13 (page 386) of the completed EIS contains a list of all public submissions on the draft EIS and our response to these.
