Consultation has concluded

We have joined with Snowy Monaro and Yass Valley Councils to work on developing a Regional Drought Resilience Plan (RDRP).

The Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program is a collaborative effort between the Commonwealth Government’s Future Drought Fund and the NSW Government’s Regional Growth Fund and aims to empower regions across NSW to build robust Plans that are easily implemented by local councils and communities, providing a safeguard against future risks.

The Plan aims to allow our region to withstand the impacts of droughts, beyond water and farming; it's about safeguarding the livelihoods, well-being, and future of our regional communities. Queanbeyan-Palerang, Snowy Monaro and Yass Valley LGA’s are diverse regions. It is important that the whole community is engaged to create the RDRP as drought impacts every part of regional communities.

The broad impacts of drought is an ongoing conversation in the region, and we acknowledge that this isn’t the first time the community has been asked for feedback. A local consultancy, GHD, has been engaged to help develop the Regional Drought Resilience Plan.

We value your input into this project which will shape the Plan and guide the development of strategies to build resilience within our communities.
