Council is reviewing Schedule 5 (Environmental heritage) of the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Local Environmental Plan 2022.

Schedule 5 is a list of historic, heritage places within the Queanbeyan-Palerang local government area.

During the consultation phase of the project, we want to learn more about our existing heritage places to ensure they are accurately recorded and protected for the future. We also want to know what other places in the region you think are important.

The project will review and update existing heritage items, the Queanbeyan Conservation Area, and archaeological sites, as well as considering new places identified for potential addition to Schedule 5. Places of Aboriginal cultural significance are not part of the current review process as they are identified, conserved, and managed under different legislation.

Schedule 5 (Environmental heritage) is available at https://legislation.nsw.gov.au/view/html/inforce/current/epi-2022-0600#sch.5 or an extract is available in the documents panel showing existing comments.

You can access detailed maps at https://www.qprc.nsw.gov.au/Building-Development/Online-Mapping. Make sure to select the "Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Local Environmental Plan 2022" layer and click "Heritage" to see the items and conservation areas.

Share your thoughts on Schedule 5 through the survey until 14 April 2025.
