Consultation has concluded
This Planning Proposal seeks to rezone land at South Jerrabomberra to to R2 Low Density Residential Zone, RE2 Private Recreation Zone and E2 Environmental Conservation Zone. This will be achieved through an amendment to the existing Queanbeyan Local Environmental Plan (LEP) (South Tralee) 2012, which will also be renamed Queanbeyan LEP (South Jerrabomberra) 2018.
The Final Planning Report has been informed by a number of background studies which were identified by the Department of Planning as part of the original Gateway Determination plus some supplementary reports prepared by consultants engaged by the proponents of the Study Area. The Planning Proposal was amended in response to submissions received when exhibited in 2015. As a result the buffer between the Hume industrial area has been extended to 250m and a new Gateway was received.
This Gateway determination authorises Council as the local plan-making authority to exercise the functions under section 3.36(2) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
The amended planning proposal, the final report and background studies will be on display here on this website from Monday 29 October 2018 until Wednesday 28 November 2018 as well as at the following locations:
Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council offices at 256 Crawford Street, Queanbeyan from 8.30am to 4.30pm weekdays and the Queanbeyan Library - 6 Rutledge Street during Library opening hours.
