Thanks for your question. We now have available the pedestrian and cyclist priority list project available online - https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au/pedestrian-priority-list
Please have a look at the listed projects for Braidwood and help us by ranking those listed. You can also add any additional areas of concern by 'dropping a pin'.

Share Can we be told when a footpath will be constructed on Redwood Ave leading off Brudenell Drive. I was told it would be constructed on 2015 and we are still waiting. With the High School now open there are now a number of children riding their bikes and scooters on the road or the dirt track. on Facebook Share Can we be told when a footpath will be constructed on Redwood Ave leading off Brudenell Drive. TR asked 24 days agoHi - thanks for your questions.
Caravans are legally allowed to park on the road, with some conditions. The Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021, provides the time frames around parking trailers and caravans. Parking must also comply with the NSW Road Rules 2014. In Googong, caravans can sometimes become an issue if they are too close to the double lines in the middle of the road. We use discretion in monitoring and patrolling the areas where the streets are narrow and where there is a lack of room on blocks of land.
Parking enforcement is carried out in Googong regularly at least twice a week.

Share Good morning, I am trying to find where the list of paths is mentioned in the “share your footpath priorities” mentioned in the most recent QPRC news. I live on Waterfall Drive and I am curious as to why the footpath only goes half way up the hill. I walk up and down it a lot with my dog. I acknowledge it was probably the developers responsibility to put in the footpath but why is there not one? It would be much safer. Walking up the hill is also really good exercise so I prefer to walk rather than drive when I can but it is always better if it is easier and safer to walk. Thank you. TR asked 24 days agoHi - thanks for your question.
Council is always looking into ways to support and implement these kinds of projects in the LGA.
We were unable to apply for the Community Batteries for Household Solar Program grant due to requirement for at least 50% co-funding.
We are currently investigating the opportunities for renewable energy with battery storage for key infrastructure. Our Community Action Plan has emphasised investigating how Council can support community energy projects.
As an example, Council's has recently provided a letter of support for a 5MW/10MWh solar and battery backup project under ARENA Regional Microgrids Program within the LGA.
Council is also working with third-party companies to investigate feasible locations for community batteries.

TR asked 24 days agoHi there - thanks for your question. Unfortunately the two EV units were vandalised. We have fixed the visibly damaged equipment but the RFID unit was also damaged. This has been ordered and we hope to have them up and running within the next couple of weeks.

Share Is the QPRC looking to reduce funding for non-discretionary activities/events to reduce the impact of the increase in rates for the local residents? Council residents should not be funding (via the rates paid to Council) activities that are not deemed essential services (or services available via commercial businesses) such as the ‘free’ learners drivers course (as advertised on 02 Sep 24), or ‘free’ child car seat safety checks? These activities are ‘nice to have’, but in an environment where prices are increasing everywhere, these activities and similar should be put aside in favour of reduced rates to fund only those non-discretionary services (Rates, Roads, Rubbish). on Facebook Share Is the QPRC looking to reduce funding for non-discretionary activities/events to reduce the impact of the increase in rates for the local residents? Fixer Upper Mum asked 10 months agoThanks for your question. Local Government is not responsible for establishing public preschools, this is something that the NSW Department of Education is responsible for.
As part of the NSW Government’s 2024-25 Budget, they announced in May 2024 that a new public preschool will be built at Queanbeyan South Public School.
